digital evolution effects revolution
Even Superman would be dazzled and amazed
The pace of technology continues to accelerate and the force it exudes upon society is growing daily. At times – it all seems too, much. We become frustrated with the changes in technology-
“Hey, get your hands off my Facebook interface!” or “What do you mean the software I’ve been using for 10 years won’t run on my laptop? I’m comfortable using it. Why change?”
Hey, we ‘feel your pain’. We live in the backwater of technology’s tidal pool, too. But this IS the name of the technology game. It’s ALL about change.
NEWS FLASH !
It’s not so much that people don’t like the ‘results of change’ – just look at how fast folks snap up the goodies that come to the store shelves every 4-6 months!; like candy man! – but it’s that rub that comes when we get moved from our enjoyed comfort level. Now, that’s when change gets downright negative! At least in our perception of change.
Again, we hear you and raise you ten. We are there, too. But we are also on the ‘other side’ of this conversation. We are instigators of change. What the technowriters refer to as CHANGE AGENTS. Our game is making CHANGE happen – and happen just as fast as it can!
The good thing is we have a firm understanding – practical (over 100 years collectively!!) and theoretical - of both sides of this issue of Technology and the Everlasting Change. The real benefit of this position is being able to see ahead – into what some might call the technology crystal ball. It’s not magic or special – really – it’s just observation from a experienced point of view.
All of this techno-bother bugs people and confuses the majority of humanity. Then just as suddenly,we see how a new, emerging technology, will work. How it will benefit the Digital Community and humanity as well.
It’s at this point the realization of CHANGE – though troubling at times – is really worth it in the long run. And even though technology is so much in the ‘now’ (short term due to constant technology turnover) … it is still a matter of dealing with a very ‘long-tail-viewpoint’. Focused well into the future.
FUTURE THOUGHT
Focus is one of the things we do best. We are FUTURE THINKERS. This is why we are eDIGImag™. We are – we hope – a soothing, informing and enlightening voice for the, “…evolving digital interface between traditional communications of all types.”.
As a result of all this flux, many questions arise. Chief among them are…
- How do we keep up?
- How can we be prepared?
- How to prepare for what is already here?
- How do we prepare for what is coming?
This is why we created eDIGImag™. eDIGImag™, as a publisher of online electronic magazines (eMags), in uniquely positioned to offer you a front-row seat to seeing and experiencing the power of future thought, brought about by the change from traditional media to digital.
An important point to keep in mind is this – the KEY mission statement for eDIGImag™ :
eDIGImag™ was not established to provide specific answers on ‘How To’, ‘Why’, ‘What is important’ or ‘Who to follow’. eDIGImag™ exists to provide our readership with the results of the interface between traditional and digital media technology. We exist so that you may FEEL the power of the transition. We at eDIGImag™ are firm in our belief in this statement: “People will SEE a need, when they can FEEL a need.” The NEED – is the NEED to understand the Value of Accepting and Embracing Change. And this goes far beyond the eDIGImag™ experience. This, is our point.
It’s not about us, it’s because of us.
eDIGImag™ titles deal with the world of Digital Technology application – in all of its forms.
- Digital Photography
- Digital Graphics
- New Media
- Digital Video
- Digital Communications
- and more
There will be more in the near future. So much so, that much of what we talk about today will be outmoded a year from now. But eDIGImag™ will not be.
We embrace CHANGE. CHANGE is our companion, not our adversary.
The users, purveyors, creators and marketers of digital technology desperately seek a resource for usable, important information to transition into Digital without loosing the heritage of the traditional or their substantial legacy investment.
We don’t rebuild wheels… we make the wheels better.
It doesn’t matter what category of digital technology we occupy – developer, marketer, or a user only – digital technology is changing our lives and how we live.
We who are current users – and those who will come ‘online’ shortly – need …
- timely access to legitimate information on the twists and turns of this rapidly evolving technology;
- immediate information, presented in a format -
- easy-to-understand
- minimal learning curve
- bite-size format
Just what does all this increased digital technology get us: besides, a confused look? Digital technology promises to provide everyone a more productive, creative environment.
During the latter part of this decade we have already witnessed the following first wave of these benefits.:
- computing devices becoming ever smaller
- communications accessible to more and more of the world, in ever more diverse locations
- access is available on an anytime basis
- access is less and less expensive for users
- applications, tools and techniques we could only dream of just a few short years ago are now commonplace
Few would doubt we now live in a far more potentially productive era.
In our fast-paced, technologically enhanced world, productivity is an imperative. We also know the need to be more in tune with the available digital tools and techniques are rapidly becoming prerequisite to success. The result of the chaos from misplaced efforts will negate the advantages we seek.
